My 15 Favorite Camping Items

Camping season is right around the corner and I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get out for a weekend and have some different surroundings.

There is nothing better than finding a spot where reception isn’t just spotty, but completely gone! Forget glamping, my traditional camping style is sleeping in a tent and cooking on an open fire. I love the way the stars look. I love the way the bacon tastes. I love the ambience as I enjoy my morning cup of coffee.

Let’s get down to what 15 items contribute to my successful camping trips.

1. IFORREST Sleeping Pad with Armrest & Pillow
Sleep is important on any night, but a bad sleep while camping could ruin the entire trip. The IFORREST Sleeping Pad is compact, waterproof, and self-inflating. I always take an air pump just in case I want to top it up. My favorite part is the armrest, they keep you perfectly centered and also provide some comfort if you like to sleep on your side.

2. Widesea Camping Coffee Pot
Following a good night’s sleep I MUST have a decent cup of coffee. The Widesea Camping Coffee Pot is the first thing I pack and for good reason. Who wouldn’t want to have the opportunity for French press coffee while camping? I will also stop somewhere on my way out of the city to grab some freshly ground coffee beans. MMM…

3. Multitool Hatchet
This little gem of a tool is all you will need to get by. It has an axe, hammer, saw, knife blade, screwdriver, bottle opener, and the list goes on. The multitool hatchet comes with a lifetime warranty, which shows just how strong this little gadget is.

4. DLOPK Waterpump Dispenser
This is a nice little luxury to have while roughing it for a weekend. I always worry about running out of water so like to take an 18L jug with me. Sure you can get one of the manual pumps, but after a very reasonable investment, you can have a battery operated one. The DLOPK Waterpump Dispenser comes with a USB rechargeable battery that most people find lasts for as long as they need it.

5. Everbeam H6 Pro LED Headlamp
I cannot say enough how important headlamps are! It’s dark out there, it’s not paved roads or perfectly landscaped terrain. I’ve been to a couple natural hot springs and boy do these come in handy. The Everbeam H6 Pro LED Headlamp can last up to 10 hours on one charge and has a Jedi like quality in the motion sensor wave switch to turn it on and off.

6. Coghlan’s Cast Iron Cooker & Broiler
THIS!!! This is a lifesaver when it comes to cooking over an open fire. Coghlan’s Cast Iron Cooker & Broiler, along with a pot and tinfoil are the only cooking supplies I typically bring and I’m never disappointed in my meals. Bush pies, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, get creative and channel your inner chef!

7. Redcamp Waterproof Rain Poncho
If you have luck like me, it rains at some point during your camping excursion. There is nothing worse than being wet and cold. Enter the Redcamp Waterproof Rain Poncho! No poncho is stylish so drop that expectation right now, but this one does come in a few different colors, has a hood, and a newly added feature is the Velcro arms, so you aren’t completely exposed like other ponchos.

8. BOGI Microfiber Travel Sports Towel
Towels can be bulky to pack, but these lightweight and compact BOGI Microfiber Travel Sports Towels are a great item for the entire family to have. The microfiber fabric is fast drying and the towel can be rolled up and stored in a space saving bag.

9. Coleman Egg Container
This item literally changed my life when it came to camping. I love having an egg, bacon, and cheese breakfast sandwich in the mornings, but the egg carton was never convenient to pack so I tried a number of things like wrapping them in paper towel and putting into Tupperware, but it was so bulky. The Coleman Egg Container is a 3×4 design, which makes it much more efficient to pack. Not to mention, the eggs are fully protected in isolated pods. This is a MUST HAVE!

10. LuminAID Phone Charger Lanterns
Before you go all crazy about the “phone charger” portion of this one, know that I only use my phone for music while camping. Rewind to when I said no reception remember. The LuminAID Phone Charger Lanterns were featured on Shark Tank and its popularity grew even more. Not only can the light last up to 50 hours, but you can also recharge it in direct sunlight.

11. FE Active Outdoor Camping Hammock
I like to curl up with a book or two while camping and this hammock makes for a nice little setup to escape to. The FE Active Outdoor Camping Hammock is equipped for two people and has a removeable mosquito net. You don’t have to worry about the quality because the fabric is parachute nylon, making it one of the most durable hammocks out there.

12. Trekology Ultralight Inflating Travel/Camping Pillows
Comfort is key! I love the Trekology inflatable pillows in the hammock mostly, but I will bring it in and add it onto my air mattress listed above. The pillow has a slip-resistant design and is super fast to inflate and deflate. This little piece of heaven folds down to be pretty tiny so make sure you keep it in a safe place.

13. Kirkland Signature Moist Wipes
This one is probably pretty self explanatory, but let’s face it, we don’t have the same luxury of turning on a tap sometimes when we are camping. I always bring lots of Kirkland Signature Moist Wipes for obvious reasons and no one has ever complained about it. It’s not just the kiddos that like Smores!

14. Ultimate Survival Technologies FlexWare Sink
Collapsible and strong, the FlexWare Sink will be something you wished you had all along. It makes clean-up a breeze and has two sturdy handles for transporting easier when filled.

15. Trekology Small Portable Camping Table
Other than a picnic table, which is usually a bare minimum, you are on your own with tables. If there is a large group of people joining you, it’s always a good idea to have some smaller tables ready to pop out for some bevies and munchies. The Trekology table is aluminum, waterproof, and super easy to clean. It’s a short, small table, but it is perfect for the beach or camping and comes with a small bag.

There you have it! Those are my 15 favorite items to camp with. Trust me, I take more stuff with me, but these are my “essentials” as I like to call them. Start planning your next camping trip and let me know if I should be adding a new favorite to my list!

Cheers to an amazing camping season!
