12 Lessons from 2022

I just realized my last blog post on here was January 2022 and it was a deep one. At the end of every year I like to spend time reflecting on what has transpired, what I have learned, and then set intentions for the upcoming year.

I have continued on my healing and personal growth journey and while I don’t believe in resolutions, intentions is where it’s at! I encourage you to take what resonates with you from my list below and whatever doesn’t, leave it there. Everyone has different experiences and discoveries on their journeys.

So here we go… these are my 12 takeaways from 2022:

  1. It’s perfectly acceptable to distance yourself from people or situations that dim your light and drain your energy.
  2. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Think of the concept of growing pains– it’s temporary uncomfortability and pain before you grow. This is the same concept for personal growth. Get uncomfortable, embrace the messy, go deep inside yourself and discover things you have never known. Then the magic will happen!
  3. Know your worth! This one is self explanatory.
  4. Mindset is everything. If you focus on the negative, negativity is what you will attract. If you focus on the positive, positivity will come your way!
  5. Do the things you love more often.
  6. Make time to be with your thoughts and emotions and prioritize your healing.
  7. Spend more time with likeminded people and those who lift you up.
  8. Cleanse your environment. This is a big one! Your home and the space you occupy is your domain, it needs to be a safe and happy place. I fill mine with scents I love and items that bring me joy and peace. I made a beautiful retreat in my spare room that I use as my yoga, meditation, and reading room. It’s a room that has become a hug!
  9. Self love does not make you selfish.
  10. Sometimes saying goodbye is all that is holding you back from leveling up.
  11. If something makes you happy, keep it private.
  12. Make yourself a priority and never allow anyone to treat you as an option.

I couldn’t be more satisfied with how 2022 was for me. It was messy, chaotic, productive, healing, and encouraging. I cried, laughed, danced, celebrated, broke down, and everything in between. I am beyond ecstatic to tackle 2023 with everything that I have and everything that is in me and more!

Happy New Year!!!
